Lacie Lady Ace
Some Dreams Do Come True - by Jean M. Ibsen

This is the story of my dream horse-Lacie Lady Ace. Having been born a horse-lover, I attempted to ride with every opportunity that came along. Time was too short with a teaching career, marriage and two daughters. During these times I leased and owned several breeds of horses, jumped fences, did western, trail and dressage riding. All of this was done with not much available time, so I sort of dabbled in horseback riding.

After retiring in 2005, I decided to persue my dream of riding, so I looked for my dream horse. I used the internet site of equine.com and printed out several sheets of horses I was possibly interested in, for sale. Then I put the most desirable sounding horse on top of the list-Lacie Lady Ace.

So, my husband and I visited her at KR Ranch near Kewaunee, Wisconsin, where she was born. This was in March of 2007. Driving up to the ranch I saw Lacie being ridden in the snowy landscape and I told my husband, "There is my horse!"

Lacie is a registered American Paint Horse Association horse. She was born in 2003 and is a chestnut sorrel overo mare who is 16 hands tall. I found out that Lacie had been imprinted at birth and raised with love, language and leadership. So, I bought her and she became my horse. The owners told me that she was ready to learn and was like a "blank slate." She could be trained and used in any discipline of riding.

I have been playing with and riding her for about one and a half years now. Lacie is a mild-mannered horse who is intelligent, curious and loves to be with people. She is making excellent progress, we have formed a partnership with each other and we are in harmony.

Currently, I play with her and ride her four times each week, all year long. We are working on refinement now and every time I 'm with her is exciting and fun. She is delightful to train and be with. She is beautiful and I love her!
